Your first day
Log in, find your classes and see what is expected of you.
Your first day on Ovium is short. Sign in, find your classes, and you are ready to take attendance and enter marks. Here is what to expect.
Signing in
Use the username and first password your school office gave you, then set your own password. The full steps are in Your first login. On a phone, Ovium works like an app and can be added to your home screen.
Your dashboard
After signing in you land on your dashboard — a summary of your day. From the menu on the left (or the bottom bar on a phone) you reach attendance, marks, homework and notices.
Finding your classes
You see the classes you are responsible for. If you are a class teacher, you get the full view of your section — the roster and daily attendance. As a subject teacher, you see the classes you teach that subject to, for entering marks.
Cannot see a class you expected? Ask your school admin to confirm you are assigned to it, and that your account is set as teaching staff.
What to do next
The three things you will do most are:
- Taking attendance — daily, for your class.
- Entering marks — when an exam is open.
- Homework & notices — to keep parents in the loop.
If your school switched on the assistant, you can just ask it “my class attendance today” instead of hunting through menus. See Using the assistant.
