Entering marks

Enter marks for your subject and know when results go live.

When your school opens an exam, you enter marks for your own subject. The admin publishes results afterwards, so your job is simply to record the marks accurately.

Entering marks for your subject

1

Open the exam

From your exams/marks area, pick the open exam and your subject for a class.

2

Type the marks

Enter each student's marks against the maximum shown. Move down the list student by student.

3

Save

Save your entries. You can come back and continue if you do not finish in one go.

When results go live

Entering marks does not make them visible to parents. Results stay hidden until an admin publishes the exam. This gives the school a chance to check everything first, then release results together.

If a mark is locked, the admin has finalised it. Ask them to unlock it if a genuine correction is needed.

Double-checking

Before you consider your subject done, scan your column for anything that looks off — a blank where a student sat the exam, or a mark above the maximum. Catching it now is easier than after results are published.

Enter marks in a quiet moment rather than all at once at a deadline — you can save partway and return, which reduces mistakes.

Report cards

Your marks flow into each student's report card, which the admin brands and parents open once results are published. You do not assemble the report card yourself — Ovium builds it from the marks.
