Your first login

How to sign in, set your password and find your way around.

Signing in for the first time takes a couple of minutes. The steps are the same whether you are an admin, a teacher or a parent — only what you see afterwards differs.

What you need

You need the web address of your school's Ovium and a login. Your school admin gives teachers and parents their username (usually your registered mobile number or email) and a first password. The admin's own login is created when the school is set up.

Do not have a login yet? Teachers and parents should ask the school office. Admins receive their details when the school account is created.

Signing in

1

Open the school address

Type your school's Ovium web address into any browser — on a phone, tablet or computer. You will land on the sign-in page.

2

Enter your login

Type the username and password you were given and select Sign in.

3

Set your own password

The first time in, change the password to something only you know. Pick something you will remember but others cannot guess.

Finding your way around

After signing in you land on your dashboard — a summary screen for your role. The menu down the left (or the bottom bar on a phone) takes you everywhere you are allowed to go. The top bar shows your school and a bell for notifications.

On a phone, Ovium works like an app. You can even add it to your home screen from the browser menu (“Add to Home screen” / “Install”) and open it with one tap after that.

If you cannot get in

Double-check the address and that Caps Lock is off. If the password does not work, use the school office to reset it — an admin can set a new password for any teacher or parent. See Getting help for more.
