What Ovium is
A plain-language tour of the system and who does what in it.
Ovium is a school management system your school runs online. It keeps one shared, always-up-to-date record of your classes, students, staff, attendance, fees, exams and results — so the office, the staffroom and parents are all looking at the same information instead of separate registers and spreadsheets.
What it does
In day-to-day terms, Ovium is where your school:
- keeps the list of classes, students and staff for the year;
- marks attendance and keeps its history;
- bills and collects fees, and issues receipts;
- runs exams, records marks and publishes report cards;
- shares homework and notices with the right people;
- lets parents follow their own child.
Who uses it
Three kinds of people sign in, and each sees only what belongs to them:

How to think about it
The simplest way to picture Ovium: it is your school office, staffroom and parent noticeboard, all kept in sync automatically. When a teacher marks a student absent, the office and that child's parent both see it. When the office records a fee payment, the parent's balance updates and a receipt is ready to download. Nobody has to re-enter anything.
