Who does what
Admin, teacher and parent — what each role can see and do.
Everyone signs in to the same Ovium, but what you see depends on your role. This keeps things simple and private — a parent only ever sees their own child, a teacher only their own classes.
School admin
The admin runs the whole school in Ovium. If you are the person who sets up the year, admits students, adds staff, configures fees and publishes results, you are an admin. Admins can see every class and every student in the school.
Teacher
A teacher signs in to look after their own work: taking attendance for their class, entering marks for their subject, and posting homework or notices. A class teacher also sees the full picture for their assigned class. Teachers do not see other teachers' classes or the school's fee accounts.
Parent
A parent follows their own child — attendance, the fee balance, published results and school notices. If a family has more than one child in the school, a single parent login covers all of them. Parents cannot see other families' information.
Roles are set by the admin. If you think you have the wrong access — for example a teacher who should be a class teacher — ask your school admin to check your account.
What this means for you
Pick the section of this knowledge base that matches your role and follow it top to bottom. The first login steps are the same for everyone; after that, the guides split by role.
